Akamai Project
This project was a fantastic opportunity for Sydney Signs Portal to showcase the range of our favourite products, as well as the versatility of our team in applying varying media to solutions commonly sought by our clientele. This included: 3D reception signage, office wall graphics, window frosting with computer cut design, logo signs for glass doors (vinyl decals), acrylic panels, office room name signage.
On this occasion the 3D reception signage was bolstered with extra volume – giving it added impact. It was custom painted in the company colours.
The window frosting at the entrance utilised a barcode design. This curious approach imbues the space with a sense of creativity, while also reflecting the company’s digital enterprise.
Some exquisite detail accompanied the room name signs. Stunning digital graphics of Australian native plans adorned the timber doors – a lovely touch.
Monochrome wall graphics with cartoonish drawn Sydney cityscapes were an impressive feature installed in several large office areas. These spectacular wall graphics invite your mind and creativity to flow beyond the walls of your workspace.

Manly Health Centre Project – The Forgotten Art of Simplicity
When you are part of a team that is blessed with innovative skill, it is often tempting to mine that rich vein of creative talent for all the projects you are presented with. But there are times when it is important to remind oneself that we don’t always need to reinvent the wheel.
And such was the case when Manly Health Centre reached out to us to design and install a large 3D sign for their reception wall. This was an opportunity for us to call upon classic business signage aesthetic: minimalist in approach without distractions.
The white acrylic lettering against the dark-grey wall offers perfect contrast. A crisp, clearly-defined announcement that conveys certainty and reassurance.
And the large 3D letters carry weight and imbue the setting with a sense of importance.
This type of business signage is a great example of effectiveness through simplicity.
The other component of this project was window frosting.
There are few places where privacy is of greater importance than a visit to the doctor. So this project would see Sydney Signs Portal installing classic quality privacy window frosting throughout the entire clinic.
We utilised a combination of fully frosted and partially-frosted techniques – depending on the client’s requirements for each space.
Fully-frosted glass provides 100% privacy, while still allowing the luxury of 95% of daylight to pass through. Partial frosting can protect certain rooms from unwanted eyes, or limit distractions while ensuring the space remains non-claustrophobic.
And, at the end of the day, all of these elements combine perfectly when installed to the high professional standards that are the trademark of Sydney Signs Portal.
Signage in 3D: adding an impactful dimension to your office branding
What better way to have your office branding stand out than by taking advantage of the impactful effect of 3D signage. And such was the thinking of Sydney-based cruise holiday specialists, Ecruising Travel, when they contacted us to complete this interesting project.
Our brief was to create a large 3D sign, which to achieve, we would need to incorporate three different signage elements.
We used 6 mm acrylic – black for the suite number, and white with a coloured face for the rest of the signage – which included varying sizes of 3D lettering and numbers.
In completing this project, acrylic was our material of choice – which is most widely used in 3D signs – but 3D signage can also be fabricated from other materials, such as foam plastic, or aluminum composite panel for achieving a gleaming metallic finish.
The installation of 3D signage can be resolved by either screwing or adhering each element to the desired surface. And you can create a striking visual effect, by varying the gauge of your elements, creating a visual staircase of ascending height with your components.
Perhaps not utilised as often as it could be, 3D signs offer an approach to customised office branding that maximises impact. Please contact Sydney Signs Portal today to learn how your business could benefit from it.
Acrylic Signage: an intersection of art and function
When one of Australia’s largest consumer product companies reached out to us to complete a large-scale project – even we didn’t fully anticipate the epic magnitude of what we were taking on.
The brief was for wall graphics and art at their new office in Macquarie Park, Sydney. This would end up including the installation of several large wall murals, as well as the installation of an incredible 26 acrylic prints – with the largest panel measuring 1500mm W x 1000mm H.
With the company specialising in food, all of the artworks were food-themed. And this is where the quality of an Acrylic Print Sign shone through. Acrylic lends itself perfectly to artwork because it is 100% optically clear – unlike glass, whose production method ensures it will always have slight colouration.
Each acrylic piece adorns the wall like a work of art, transforming the space into what feels more like a gallery than a new office.
