With a relationship that now spans a number of years, UNICEF has become part of the Sydney Signs Portal family. But it is still an incredible honour to be contacted by UNICEF to work on yet another ambitious signage and graphics project.

The simple brief of producing and installing graphics and signage in their new office, barely tells the story of the insight we enjoyed into the valuable work they are doing. The precision of laser cut 3D acrylic signage, welcomes you to an office whose walls and pillars are effectively a gallery of good deeds.

The multiple wall murals and poster style wall decals display photos that capture moments from remote Australian communities, to Bangladesh, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Mongolia, and Syria. Photographic moments, that represent, the reach and commitment that UNICEF has to uplift the lives of others.

Installing wall graphics on pillars that display UNICEF’s efforts around the world, perfectly symbolises the pillar of support that UNICEF is in our global community.

Installing caption signs made from foamed PVC material with digital print below the wall graphics allow anyone viewing them to better appreciate the stories behind them and deepen their understanding of the struggles faced in these communities and nations.

Further adding to the thoughtfulness of this installation, graphics were installed on the lockers incorporating the global goals of the organisation, and window decals were used to name rooms in accordance with UNICEF’s values.

It really is quite special to work with an organisation with a towering reputation on the international humanitarian stage. We take great pride in the fact that UNICEF entrusts Sydney Signs Portal to deliver work to the high standards they require. We extend our sincere support for their efforts moving forward.

Piccolina: Prismatic effect on gold window signs

This elegant project presents an opportunity to share with you our craft secret to creating a 3D prismatic effect.

mirror-gold-window-decal-sign-sydney-piccolina

Illusion is often described as ‘smoke and mirrors’ – and that certainly applies to this example of beautifully created crystal 3D lettering with a flat window decal.

But you don’t arrive at this stunning endpoint unless you have the desire for magic, combined with the right materials, and an experienced team at your disposal with a reputation for these quality solutions.

Our approach saw us combining metallic mirror gold and matte gold signage materials in the one artwork, carefully installed within the one window sign.

This deft work enabled us to attain the optical illusion of volume. This is the awesome effect that can be achieved with a creative approach to signage and graphics. This is the artistry of sign making.

This can also be done in any other colour, but using metallic vinyl signs really does maximise the visual impact.

Akamai Project

This project was a fantastic opportunity for Sydney Signs Portal to showcase the range of our favourite products, as well as the versatility of our team in applying varying media to solutions commonly sought by our clientele. This included: 3D reception signage, office wall graphics, window frosting with computer cut design, logo signs for glass doors (vinyl decals), acrylic panels, office room name signage.

On this occasion the 3D reception signage was bolstered with extra volume – giving it added impact. It was custom painted in the company colours.

The window frosting at the entrance utilised a barcode design. This curious approach imbues the space with a sense of creativity, while also reflecting the company’s digital enterprise.

Some exquisite detail accompanied the room name signs. Stunning digital graphics of Australian native plans adorned the timber doors – a lovely touch.

Signage with modesty and volume

A recent project for the office of NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce in Redfern, Sydney, provided us with the opportunity to design and install a variety of signage.

The signage installed on the day included acrylic signs, window signs, opening hours signs and directory signage. Once again, the skill and experience of our professional installers were required to ensure a seamless process across this variety of elements.

But without doubt, we took most pride away from the work done on the reception signage – of which the design aspect was a key component – a component that was facilitated by the consultative process that preceded the reception signage project. We enjoyed working with the client in this period, offering advice on the type of signage and materials that would best suit their needs.

After reviewing the options we provided, the client opted for a large 3D reception sign with a metallic look.

Spanning more than 1.4 m, the brushed silver composite material with only 3mm depth created a subtle 3D effect, with just enough volume to not feel too imposing. Perfect for the reception lounge space.

And it has to be said that our team worked their usual magic with yet another tight deadline, even managing to complete the install prior to the due date. Once again confirming the reputation of Sydney Signs Portal’s super-fast turnaround.

Manly Health Centre Project – The Forgotten Art of Simplicity

When you are part of a team that is blessed with innovative skill, it is often tempting to mine that rich vein of creative talent for all the projects you are presented with. But there are times when it is important to remind oneself that we don’t always need to reinvent the wheel.

And such was the case when Manly Health Centre reached out to us to design and install a large 3D sign for their reception wall. This was an opportunity for us to call upon classic business signage aesthetic: minimalist in approach without distractions.

The white acrylic lettering against the dark-grey wall offers perfect contrast. A crisp, clearly-defined announcement that conveys certainty and reassurance.

And the large 3D letters carry weight and imbue the setting with a sense of importance.

This type of business signage is a great example of effectiveness through simplicity.

The other component of this project was window frosting.

window-frosting-privacy-fillm-sydney

There are few places where privacy is of greater importance than a visit to the doctor. So this project would see Sydney Signs Portal installing classic quality privacy window frosting throughout the entire clinic.

We utilised a combination of fully frosted and partially-frosted techniques – depending on the client’s requirements for each space.

Fully-frosted glass provides 100% privacy, while still allowing the luxury of 95% of daylight to pass through. Partial frosting can protect certain rooms from unwanted eyes, or limit distractions while ensuring the space remains non-claustrophobic.

And, at the end of the day, all of these elements combine perfectly when installed to the high professional standards that are the trademark of Sydney Signs Portal.

The Stand-Out Welcome: 3D Reception Signage

It Is always a pleasure to work on a project that you know will have impact. And such was the case when Caresence reached out to us to create a 3-D reception sign with a stylish brushed silver-metallic look.

Made from Aluminium Composites Panel (ACP), the sign was cut in the shape of the company logo and included finer details with lettering beneath the logo.

We installed the ACP sign directly to the office reception wall using adhesive. The result was spectacular. This type of branding conveys that sense of a business with a solid foundation, a serious market player in it for the long term, with reliability and formidable magnitude.

Photographs of the end result do not do justice to just how impressive the appearance is of this stunning 3-D signage. With the experience of Sydney Signs Portal, and our signature fast ETA, we have created for Caresence reception signage that would be the envy of any business.

Signage in 3D: adding an impactful dimension to your office branding

What better way to have your office branding stand out than by taking advantage of the impactful effect of 3D signage. And such was the thinking of Sydney-based cruise holiday specialists, Ecruising Travel, when they contacted us to complete this interesting project.

Our brief was to create a large 3D sign, which to achieve, we would need to incorporate three different signage elements.

3D-sign-black-acrylic-suite-number-sydney

We used 6 mm acrylic – black for the suite number, and white with a coloured face for the rest of the signage – which included varying sizes of 3D lettering and numbers.

3D-acrylic-lettering-sydney

In completing this project, acrylic was our material of choice – which is most widely used in 3D signs – but 3D signage can also be fabricated from other materials, such as foam plastic, or aluminum composite panel for achieving a gleaming metallic finish.

3D-signage-Sydney

The installation of 3D signage can be resolved by either screwing or adhering each element to the desired surface. And you can create a striking visual effect, by varying the gauge of your elements, creating a visual staircase of ascending height with your components.

Perhaps not utilised as often as it could be, 3D signs offer an approach to customised office branding that maximises impact. Please contact Sydney Signs Portal today to learn how your business could benefit from it.
