Signage with modesty and volume

A recent project for the office of NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce in Redfern, Sydney, provided us with the opportunity to design and install a variety of signage.

The signage installed on the day included acrylic signs, window signs, opening hours signs and directory signage. Once again, the skill and experience of our professional installers were required to ensure a seamless process across this variety of elements.

But without doubt, we took most pride away from the work done on the reception signage – of which the design aspect was a key component – a component that was facilitated by the consultative process that preceded the reception signage project. We enjoyed working with the client in this period, offering advice on the type of signage and materials that would best suit their needs.

After reviewing the options we provided, the client opted for a large 3D reception sign with a metallic look.

Spanning more than 1.4 m, the brushed silver composite material with only 3mm depth created a subtle 3D effect, with just enough volume to not feel too imposing. Perfect for the reception lounge space.

And it has to be said that our team worked their usual magic with yet another tight deadline, even managing to complete the install prior to the due date. Once again confirming the reputation of Sydney Signs Portal’s super-fast turnaround.

Function and Focus: One-Way Vision Business Branding

There is so much to love about this spectacular project we installed at a gym in Silverwater, Sydney. Grand in scale, one-way vision window graphics spanning 8 metres, comprising one continuous image, covering the entire facade.

Each of the large letters of the sign are man height and can be viewed from a great distance, perfectly taking advantage of the windows and glass door of the business frontage.

A multilayered effect was achieved perfectly.

For those outsides, the graphics create the impression that the entire gym is being viewed, when, in fact, the privacy of those within is actually being protected.

For those on the inside, the one-way vision film provides them with a view of the outside world, while enjoying the discretion of not having the outside world look in upon them.

The use of a one-way vision also rewards with an energy saving effect. The window graphics ensure the internal space remains cool by blocking the sun and heat – a particularly useful benefit for a gym.

Manly Health Centre Project – The Forgotten Art of Simplicity

When you are part of a team that is blessed with innovative skill, it is often tempting to mine that rich vein of creative talent for all the projects you are presented with. But there are times when it is important to remind oneself that we don’t always need to reinvent the wheel.

And such was the case when Manly Health Centre reached out to us to design and install a large 3D sign for their reception wall. This was an opportunity for us to call upon classic business signage aesthetic: minimalist in approach without distractions.

The white acrylic lettering against the dark-grey wall offers perfect contrast. A crisp, clearly-defined announcement that conveys certainty and reassurance.

And the large 3D letters carry weight and imbue the setting with a sense of importance.

This type of business signage is a great example of effectiveness through simplicity.

The other component of this project was window frosting.

There are few places where privacy is of greater importance than a visit to the doctor. So this project would see Sydney Signs Portal installing classic quality privacy window frosting throughout the entire clinic.

We utilised a combination of fully frosted and partially-frosted techniques – depending on the client’s requirements for each space.

Fully-frosted glass provides 100% privacy, while still allowing the luxury of 95% of daylight to pass through. Partial frosting can protect certain rooms from unwanted eyes, or limit distractions while ensuring the space remains non-claustrophobic.

And, at the end of the day, all of these elements combine perfectly when installed to the high professional standards that are the trademark of Sydney Signs Portal.

The Stand-Out Welcome: 3D Reception Signage

It Is always a pleasure to work on a project that you know will have impact. And such was the case when Caresence reached out to us to create a 3-D reception sign with a stylish brushed silver-metallic look.

Made from Aluminium Composites Panel (ACP), the sign was cut in the shape of the company logo and included finer details with lettering beneath the logo.

We installed the ACP sign directly to the office reception wall using adhesive. The result was spectacular. This type of branding conveys that sense of a business with a solid foundation, a serious market player in it for the long term, with reliability and formidable magnitude.

Never a bored moment with MDF Board Signage

Timeless – dare I say, a classic – either way, we love the way this old-school MDF board with digital print is now the centrepiece at Stussy’s retail store in Darlinghurst, Sydney.

One of the great lessons we’ve picked up while working with countless clients across a broad range of industries all these years is to appreciate their intimate knowledge of the spaces they inhabit. And as much as we pride ourselves on the creative solutions we can provide, on this occasion, our client suggested the use of a self-standing timber sign, as a better option than traditional wall graphics.

And at 1500mm W x 2000mm H – this digital print proves yet again that bigger is better, at least when you are wanting to maximise impact.

In a space filled with vibrant colours, this classic black & white art piece gently invites your eye, offering a welcoming resting place amid that sea of colour.

And having digital prints presented as art pieces in this way, imbues your retail space with the feeling of an art gallery, elevating the customer’s experience, and adding a heightened sense of value to the merchandise being showcased.

This entire project had an incredibly fast turnaround. The work was completed only hours before the client’s scheduled photo shoot in the store. Made possible by the swift logistics of our team, who seem to relish the pressure of such a fast ETA.
